December 2019 Students of the Month were honored by the Rotary Club of Westerville at the club’s weekly luncheon Dec. 12 at Villa Milano.

St. Francis DeSales senior Nate Stevens says Physics is his favorite subject. He has earned a 3.8 GPA. He is the DeSales Tennis Team Captain, a member of the National Honor Society, and is a marching and concert band section leader. Stevens played in the Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestra last year, has performed at Carnegie Hall, and was selected for Buckeye Boys State. He is a four-year varsity letterman who has earned many academic and athletic awards. He plans to study Aeronautics and become a pilot.

Anatomy, Physiology, Psychology and AP Literature are the favorite courses of Westerville North senior Jaiden Stokes, who carries a 4.47 GPA. She is active in girls’ cross country, track and field, the National Honor Society, the Superintendent’s Advisory Council, the Warrior Athlete Leadership Team, Global Scholars, swim team, volleyball team and the Odyssey school newspaper (as sports editor). She has won numerous academic and athletic awards. She also serves a member of the Westerville Teen Advisory Board, and the Westerville Student Education Foundation Board & Grants Committee. Stokes plans to attend Brown University where she will study Biology with a focus on Neuroscience and a minor in Spanish.

Emily Enyame, a senior at Westerville Central, holds a 3.7 grade point average (GPA). Math is her favorite subject of study. She is active in marching band, Global Scholars (GS), and the MODEL mentoring program. She participated in Central’s Black History Month Show and the GS Food Insecurity Project. Enyame, a member of the National Honor Society, plans to attend New York University and study Global Public Health and Nutrition.

Westerville South senior Jacob Llaneza holds a 4.388 GPA. He enjoys the study of Science and Math. Llaneza is a captain of South’s baseball and football teams, and serves on the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee, the Recycling Committee, the National Honor Society and the I-Can program. He has continuously been on the Honor Roll for four years and won the Rock football award. He is interested in attending Case Western Reserve University and majoring in Biomedical Engineering.
