The I CAN Program
After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the I CAN Program is back in school district classrooms for the 2022-23 school year.
The Rotary Clubs of Westerville conduct the I CAN Program, teaching to 650+ second graders in the Westerville City Schools throughout the school year.
In helping to develop Character Education, the program reinforces the concepts taught through the PATH Program by second-grade teachers and school counselors.
Usually meeting weekly, Rotary volunteers with the aid of Westerville high school student helpers teach six broad concepts through 25 lessons:
-
- Self-Awareness
- Self-Management
- Personal Responsibility
- Decision-Making
- Relationship Skills
- Social-Awareness
