The Rotary Club of Westerville honored its November 2024 Students of the Month during its weekly luncheon Nov. 7 at the Medallion Club.

Throughout the school year, from October through May, the Club honors four students from local high schools each month. Working with the school principals and counselors, one student each month is chosen from Westerville Central, Westerville North, Westerville South and St. Francis DeSales high schools. The students, their parents, and the school administrators are introduced and honored at a Rotary Club luncheon each month.

Special thanks to the Westerville City School District for its continuing support of the Rotary Students of the Month program, and to district Community Engagement Coordinator Charlie Boss for student photos and profile compilations.

November 2024 Honoree Profiles

Westerville Central: Isaac Choo’s favorite subjects are math, physics and computer science. The senior is involved in the National Honor Society and the Hawkathon. He is also part of the Scouts of America and plays tennis. He earned an AP Scholar with Distinction award. He plans to study computer science and engineering at the Ohio State University.

Westerville North: Eliora Impano Sheja’s favorite subjects are science and history. The senior is co-director of WNHS’ Black History Month show and is involved in the Black Student Union, Black Scholar Alliance and French Club. She also mentors elementary school students. She is heavily involved in her church, serving as a student leader and summer camp leader. She is also involved in a nonprofit called Impano Faith in Action. She has been awarded leadership roles with the Black Student Union and received honors for her work in French class and her church’s summer camp. She plans to attend Ohio University and study dentistry. “Impano means a great deal to me because my middle name is Impano and me and my parents started this program. It’s a nonprofit that helps pay school fees for less fortunate students in high school, support orphans by buying them school supplies and paying health insurance for widows and orphans as well in the hometown where I was born in at Kigali, Rwanda. We started that because there was a genocide in Rwanda that affected my family so my family decided to start offering the support.”

Westerville South: Aubrielle Behary’s favorite subjects are English and the sciences. The senior is heavily involved with Westerville South Theatre as the technician president. She recently completed her 24th show with Troupe 513’s Alice By Heart production, for which she was the costume lead. She is also a member of the student council and National Honor Society. She is an International Baccalaureate diploma candidate. She volunteers at New Life Dance Ministries, where she has been dancing since age three. She co-teaches acrobatics and tumbling classes. She also volunteers with the Canine Collective and Rotary’s I CAN program. She lettered in academics and theatre and was the WSHS Student of the Month for January. She has been inducted into the National Thespian Society and earned honor thespian status, which represents more than 600 hours of work dedicated to the troupe. She also received the Outstanding Student Designer CAPA Marquee Award for her work in last year’s fall musical, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. She also earned a superior rating for costume design in the 2023 fall thespian conference, and was given the opportunity to present her work at the state thespian spring conference. She plans to attend Denison University this fall.

St. Francis DeSales: Sarah Stevenson enjoys studying biology and physics. She is a captain of the varsity soccer team, and she’s a member of Spanish National Honor Society and Mind Over Matter. She plans to biology at Ohio State University and pursue a career in pediatrics.
