The Rotary Club of Westerville will stage our annual blanket drive for MVOB to ensure foster children have something to call their own, where we create these blankets during an at-lunch service project.
This special lunch meeting will take place at the American Legion Hall, 393 E. College Ave.
My Very Own Blanket is dedicated to warming the heart of every child and teen in the foster care system and in need of a handmade blanket or quilt, giving them a feeling of comfort, security and most of all, a SMILE.
Globally, MVOB connects diverse people, community groups, businesses and services through this volunteer opportunity and ministry with a gift that is comforting and familiar and can take youth in foster care from one home to another. Handmade blankets are created through the loving care of “Blanket Angel” volunteers and donated locally!
Thousands of blankets are donated each year and personalized with the child’s name, a tradition for My Very Own Blanket since 1999.
This year, digital options to make donations in advance have been added. See below and visit our Members’ e-Pay Secure page to sponsor your blankets!
WAYS TO PARTICIPATE:
- Sponsor blanket(s) by purchasing $12/blanket
- Sponsor blanket(s) and tie fringe at home
- Trim fleece to prepare for tying (home project)
